Agreement to these terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of teknabyte.com, our client portal, and our support channels, operated by TeknaByte Consulting, LLC ("TeknaByte," "we," "us"), a managed IT and managed security services provider in Indianapolis, Indiana. By using them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

Our services are governed by your agreement

Managed IT, managed security, projects, and products are provided under the signed quote, statement of work, and services agreement for each engagement. Those documents set the scope, service levels, fees, and responsibilities, and where they differ from these terms, the signed agreement controls.

Using this site

You may use this site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or our systems, interfere with their operation or security, submit false information, or use automated tools to scrape or overload the site.

Information on this site

Articles, guides, checklists, and other content on this site are general information about IT, cybersecurity, and compliance. They are not legal, regulatory, or professional advice for your situation, and following them does not guarantee security or compliance. Contact us for guidance specific to your environment.

Assessments and reviews we offer through this site, such as a Free Cyber Risk Assessment, are based on the information and access you provide and reflect conditions at the time. We test or scan systems only with written authorization from someone entitled to give it.

Client portal and accounts

If you have access to our client portal, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for activity under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized use. We may suspend access to protect you, your organization, or our systems.

SMS Terms

Program: TeknaByte Consulting On-call Alerts. TeknaByte Consulting sends text messages only to company-owned mobile phones that it issues to its own staff for on-call duty. Messages are internal on-call alerts, such as after-hours voicemails, missed after-hours calls, and critical alerts about the systems we monitor. Receiving them is part of the on-call role. We do not send marketing messages, and we never text customers or personal phones.

Message frequency varies with on-call activity. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to any message to opt out; you will receive one confirmation and no further messages. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at 317.620.3900. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How we handle information related to these messages is described in our Privacy Policy, including that we do not sell or share SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Intellectual property

The content, logos, and design of this site belong to TeknaByte Consulting or its licensors and are protected by law. You may view and share pages for your own business purposes, but you may not copy, modify, or republish them commercially without our written permission.

Third-party links and services

This site may link to websites and services we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.

Disclaimers

This site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. No security measure eliminates all risk. The warranties for our services, if any, are those in your signed client agreement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TeknaByte Consulting is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of this site. Liability for our services is governed by your signed client agreement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute about them will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Marion County, Indiana, unless your client agreement says otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date below, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
